Aviation Performance Solutions (APS) and 5X5 Aviation Insurance have partnered to offer eligible 5X5 policyholders preferred pricing and training upgrades on selected APS programmes. Pilots who completed a qualifying upset prevention and recovery training (UPRT) course with APS in the 12 months before applying can earn a 5% premium credit under 5X5’s Safety Rewards programme. The credit is subject to underwriting guidelines.
The 5% credit forms part of a programme offering combined premium credits of up to 20%. The partnership announcement does not identify the qualifying APS courses or detail the preferred pricing, upgrades or underwriting conditions applicable to individual policies.
APS provides UPRT combining academic, simulator and in-aircraft instruction to develop pilots’ upset prevention and recovery skills. The companies described the arrangement as a way to encourage pilot proficiency and proactive risk management. Loss of control in flight is a leading cause of aviation fatalities.
