American Airlines has launched a new codeshare partnership with STARLUX Airlines to expand trans-Pacific options between North America and Taipei. The agreement lets American place its code on STARLUX-operated flights from Taipei Taoyuan International Airport to Los Angeles, Ontario, San Francisco and Seattle, with select itineraries available to book immediately for travel from 30 September.
The partnership gives American a stronger Taipei presence without operating the long-haul service itself, while STARLUX gains broader access into the US through American’s domestic network. A Phoenix-Taipei codeshare is planned but remains subject to regulatory approval. Eligible itineraries can be booked on aa.com and in the American app, and AAdvantage members can earn miles and Loyalty Points on qualifying codeshare flights.
The arrangement builds on an earlier interline relationship and extends single-ticket booking and through-checked baggage across the two carriers’ networks. STARLUX cabins sold through American include Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy Class, adding more connection options for travellers linking North America, Taipei and onward Asia routes.
