Altavair will promote Matthew Hoesley to chief executive officer and president from 1 January 2027, while founder Stephen Rimmer moves to executive chairman. The Seattle-based aircraft leasing and financing platform also named Dimitrios Kotinis as chief commercial officer as it prepares for its next phase of expansion backed by KKR’s $1.4 billion equity commitment.
Rimmer founded Altavair in 2003 and has led its growth into a global aviation leasing, financing and asset management business. He will remain involved in strategic leadership and board oversight after the transition. Hoesley, who joined the company in 2005, steps up from president and chief commercial officer, bringing long experience across investment, origination and commercial functions.
Kotinis will take charge of marketing, trading, pricing, risk and capital markets. The leadership changes form part of a planned succession process intended to support continued portfolio growth as Altavair expands its leased aircraft platform with KKR capital.
