Alliance Aviation Services has appointed Steven Greenway as chief executive, with the Australian charter and FIFO operator replacing long-serving managing director and CEO Stewart Tully. Greenway will take over in October, while Tully remains for a short transition period as the listed airline group prepares for its next strategic phase.
The board selected Greenway to lead Alliance’s FIFO-focused business through its next stage of development. He joins from flyadeal, the low-cost airline unit of Saudia Group, and brings more than 25 years of aviation leadership experience spanning Qantas, Singapore Airlines’ Scoot, SkyEurope, WestJet and flyadeal.
Tully is stepping down after more than 11 years with Alliance, ending a period in which the company expanded its specialist position in charter and fly-in, fly-out operations. The orderly handover is intended to preserve continuity while giving the new chief executive room to review the group’s strategy and operational priorities.
