Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines will launch year-round nonstop service from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Papeete, Tahiti, on 11 June 2027. The Hawaiian Airlines-branded route will operate three times weekly with Airbus A330-200 aircraft, opening the only nonstop connection between Seattle and French Polynesia and offering one-stop access from across the US network.
The service will operate as flight AS987. Departures from Seattle are scheduled for Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 23:55, arriving in Papeete at 07:20 the following day. Return flights will leave Papeete on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 17:00, reaching Seattle at 06:00 the next morning. The schedule remains subject to government approval.
The early arrival in Tahiti is designed to support same-day onward connections to Bora Bora and Moorea. Through the expanded partnership with Air Tahiti, passengers will also be able to connect to Rarotonga in the Cook Islands. Hawaiian will continue operating its existing Honolulu–Papeete service, making the Seattle route an addition to the group’s Tahiti network rather than a replacement.
The route is part of a wider expansion from Seattle that also includes a new nonstop service to Osaka. Tickets were available at launch, with introductory return fares from Seattle to Papeete advertised from US$999 through 26 October 2026, subject to availability.
