Airbus Defence and Space has completed its acquisition of French cybersecurity specialist Quarkslab after receiving regulatory approvals, bringing the Paris- and Rennes-based company’s team and technology into its expanding cyber business. The deal strengthens Airbus’ sovereign cybersecurity offer in France and across Europe as the group deepens its focus on government and commercial clients facing advanced digital threats.
Quarkslab, founded in 2011 and employing about 100 people, had already been working with Airbus as a supplier and partner. Its capabilities, including the QLab team and QShield platform, are set to be absorbed into Airbus Defence and Space’s Connected Intelligence activities.
The acquisition fits Airbus’ broader strategy to reinforce its role as a trusted partner for French authorities while expanding its European cybersecurity footprint. It follows earlier cyber moves by the group, including Infodas in Germany in 2024 and Ultra Cyber Ltd in the UK in March 2026.
François Lombard, head of Connected Intelligence at Airbus Defence and Space, linked the transaction to the group’s aim of building a resilient sovereign cyber player in France and across Europe. Airbus did not disclose the transaction value or a detailed integration timetable.
