Airbus staff in Spain and Boeing’s white-collar workforce have both backed new labour deals, easing immediate strike risk at two major aerospace manufacturers. Airbus employees at sites in Getafe, Albacete, Illescas, Seville and Cádiz approved a proposal to end months of stop-and-start industrial action, while Boeing’s SPEEA union ratified four-year contracts covering engineers, scientists, designers, analysts and technicians.
The Airbus vote followed a prolonged dispute over pay and working conditions and opens the way for a settlement that includes wage rises, holiday flexibility and a return to 40% remote working for staff in Spain. Union officials reported support from 76.76% of voting employees, removing pressure from production sites tied to the group’s industrial output in the country.
At Boeing, both bargaining units voted in favour of the new agreement, with the professional unit approving it by 67.62% and the technical unit by 53.48%. The deal gives workers a guaranteed 10% wage increase on ratification, followed by annual raises of 4%, alongside stronger remote-working provisions, tighter overtime limits and improved paid leave. The vote reduces the risk of a walkout as the current contracts approach expiry.
