Air North will introduce year-round scheduled service between Edmonton and Yellowknife from December 2026, extending the route beyond seasonal operations and creating continuous Whitehorse–Yellowknife connectivity. The change gives the airline a more permanent northern link through Yellowknife, which will serve as a key gateway between the Northwest Territories, Yukon and Alberta.
The network expansion is aimed at improving reliable air access across Canada’s North, where regular scheduled service remains vital for residents, businesses, Indigenous governments, territorial administrations and organisations operating across both territories. Air North is also adding other Yellowknife services, including new links to Victoria and Kelowna, broadening the carrier’s presence in the market.
The move strengthens inter-territorial travel options at a time when dependable year-round links are especially important for mobility, commerce and public services in remote northern communities. It also gives travellers more routing choices through Yellowknife for journeys between Whitehorse and Edmonton.
