Air Cambodia to receive first two COMAC C909s in November 2026

Air Cambodia is set to receive its first two COMAC C909 regional jets in November 2026, with eight more aircraft scheduled to arrive through 2029. The Cambodian flag carrier is the buyer of the aircraft, formerly known as the ARJ21-700, under a 20-jet agreement with COMAC.

The remaining deliveries are planned for 2027, 2028 and 2029, with two aircraft due in the first of those years, three in the next and three in the final year. The order gives Air Cambodia a new short-haul fleet type as it looks to refresh operations and expand regional connectivity.

The purchase builds on a memorandum of understanding signed in September 2025 and a subsequent agreement reached in Shanghai on 17 July 2026. Air Cambodia’s website also refers to a deal for 20 C909 aircraft, supporting the wider outline of the programme. The C909 is COMAC’s regional jet designed for lower-density routes, and the airline becomes the first foreign flag carrier to place a bulk order for the type.
