Air Cambodia signed a formal agreement in Shanghai on 17 July 2026 to purchase 20 COMAC C909 regional jets, establishing the Cambodian state carrier as the first foreign flag operator to place a bulk order for China’s 90-seat aircraft. The deal comprises 10 firm orders and 10 letters of intent, with the first 10 units scheduled for delivery starting late 2026 and full fleet entry over five years. This transaction, valued at an estimated $380 million, marks COMAC’s largest overseas commitment for the C909 and validates the rebranded ARJ21 as a viable export product for national airlines. The agreement includes a strategic memorandum between Cambodia’s State Secretariat of Civil Aviation and COMAC to secure maintenance, training, and operational infrastructure support.
