RTX’s Pratt & Whitney begins $100 million expansion in Rzeszów

Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, has begun construction of a $100 million advanced-manufacturing facility at its Rzeszów, Poland, campus. The expansion will produce rotating engine components for Pratt & Whitney GTF, F135 and F100 programmes, supporting Airbus A320-family and A220 aircraft as well as the F-35. The facility is expected to enter service in 2028 and create more than 120 jobs.

The new operation will add advanced manufacturing and materials-processing capacity at the site, which forms part of Poland’s Aviation Valley aerospace cluster. Planned work includes production of critical components such as turbine disks for civil and military engines.

RTX is developing the project alongside a previously announced $200 million investment in a seventh isothermal forging press at its Columbus Forge facility in Georgia. The two projects are expected to increase the group’s global output of critical engine parts, including rotating compressors and turbine disks, by approximately 30% when fully operational.

RTX puts the new Rzeszów facility’s planned area at approximately 6,500 square metres. Polish reports have described a production hall of about 9,000 square metres. The site is expected to be fully operational within roughly 24 months of construction starting.
