Plaza Premium introduces dedicated children’s areas at airport lounges

Plaza Premium Group has launched Plaza Petit, a family programme introducing dedicated play, reading and relaxation areas at selected airport lounges and transit hotels. The initial rollout covers four locations: Hong Kong International Airport, Toronto Pearson International Airport, London Gatwick Airport and London Heathrow Airport, with the spaces designed to make airport waiting time more manageable for travelling families while remaining under parental or caregiver supervision.

The first Plaza Petit zone is at the Plaza Premium Lounge near Gate 60 in Terminal 1 at Hong Kong International Airport. The programme is also available in the international departures area of Terminal 3 at Toronto Pearson, the North Terminal at London Gatwick and the departures area of Terminal 1 at Heathrow’s Aerotel.

Developed with education organisation Room to Read, the concept combines multilingual children’s books, access to a digital library, travel-themed activity sets, colouring materials and destination stickers. Child-friendly meals, dedicated tableware and baby-food warming services are also included. The areas use light wood, rounded safety edges, child-sized seating and interactive bookshelves.

Plaza Premium plans a phased expansion across its global network, with further locations identified in Dubai, Helsinki, Jakarta, Jeddah, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Muscat, Phnom Penh and Rome. Availability and features may vary by location. Each Plaza Petit zone will also include a donation point supporting Room to Read’s education programmes.
