Duncan Aviation is offering and installing a replacement Archangel attitude and heading reference system (AHRS) for Pilatus PC-12 aircraft fitted with obsolete LITEF LCR-92/93 units. The TSO-approved system incorporates Level A software and provides operators with a supported alternative to ageing flight-critical avionics without requiring a major flight-deck upgrade.
The LITEF units were installed in legacy PC-12s but are no longer in production, while repair support has become more limited. Operators have consequently faced rising repair costs, longer turnaround times and potentially extended aircraft downtime when the equipment requires service.
The Archangel solution was developed specifically for the PC-12 and uses existing mounting locations with limited wiring changes. Duncan Aviation supported the certification and integration work and has already installed the system in PC-12 aircraft. The replacement combines current-production solid-state inertial sensing equipment with the aircraft’s existing avionics architecture.
Duncan Aviation can perform installations through its avionics shops and maintenance facilities, with installation support also available at a customer’s hangar. The company has not disclosed the number of aircraft involved, pricing or a standard installation schedule.
