Qatar Airways to launch Doha–Western Sydney service in December 2027

Qatar Airways will launch direct flights between Doha Hamad International Airport and Western Sydney International Airport on 15 December 2027, opening its seventh Australian destination. The service will initially operate three times a week with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, offering 42 Business Class seats, including Qsuite, and 312 Economy Class seats. Daily operations are planned by the end of 2028.

Flight QR906 will operate from Doha to Western Sydney on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, arriving at 11:45 p.m. QR907 will return on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The late arrival is enabled by Western Sydney International’s 24-hour operating capability and would not be possible at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport under its night curfew.

The route will connect Western Sydney with Doha and more than 170 destinations across Qatar Airways’ network. The aircraft will also offer free Starlink Wi-Fi. Western Sydney International, officially named Nancy-Bird Walton Airport, is scheduled to open to passenger traffic on 25 October 2026, making the Qatar Airways service a future route announced ahead of the airport’s opening.

Tickets are scheduled to go on sale on 19 December 2026. The service complements Qatar Airways’ existing Australian network and its international partnership with Virgin Australia.
