Dassault Launches EASy IV Upgrade Programme for Falcon 2000s

Dassault Aviation will offer its EASy IV flight-deck upgrade on new-production Falcon 2000LXS aircraft and as a retrofit for EASy-equipped Falcon 2000 variants. Announced at NBAA-BACE, the programme is expected to become available towards the end of the decade, with production and retrofit availability targeted for 2029. It will bring the 4,000-nm business jet closer to the avionics standard used on the Falcon 6X and 8X.

The Falcon 2000LXS currently uses the EASy II flight deck. EASy IV is based on Honeywell Primus Epic avionics and provides faster processing, higher-resolution displays, graphical flight planning, advanced datalink communications and two- and three-dimensional airport moving maps.

The package also includes expanded Jeppesen chart functions, a next-generation flight-management system with RNP approach capability, ADS-B In for airborne and surface traffic, SiriusXM weather and improved takeoff and landing performance calculations. Combined with Dassault’s FalconEye combined vision system, the upgraded cockpit is designed to improve situational awareness in poor weather.

Carlos Brana, Dassault’s executive vice-president for civil aircraft, described the programme as a response to longstanding customer requests. The retrofit option will give existing Falcon 2000 operators a path to the newer avionics standard, although Dassault has not disclosed pricing, eligibility numbers, certification milestones or detailed installation schedules.
