Graz Airport adds four airlines for summer 2027

Graz Airport has secured four additional airlines for its summer 2027 schedule, replacing part of the capacity affected by the closure of Eurowings’ base in Styria, Austria. Aegean Airlines, Freebird Airlines, Air Cairo and SkyAlps will add services to Rhodes, Heraklion, Hurghada and Olbia, respectively, while around 30 destinations are expected to remain directly accessible from Graz.

Aegean is planned to operate twice-weekly flights to Rhodes. Freebird will serve Heraklion once a week, Air Cairo will offer up to two weekly flights to Hurghada, and SkyAlps will operate twice-weekly services to Olbia. Air Cairo’s Hurghada operation will be run in cooperation with SunExpress, with flights planned from the start of the summer timetable and a second weekly rotation during part of the season.

Eurowings will continue serving Graz despite withdrawing its based aircraft. Its summer 2027 destinations are expected to include Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Palma de Mallorca and Karpathos. The airport forecasts approximately 810,000 passengers in 2026, a slight decrease from the previous year, before the expanded summer programme takes effect. Exact start dates, aircraft types and final frequencies for the new services have not been specified.
