SyberJet reveals SJ36 mockup and in-house avionics system at NBAA-BACE 2026

SyberJet Aircraft has unveiled a full-scale mockup of its planned SJ36 light business jet at Henderson Executive Airport in Nevada, opening reservations for the nine-seat aircraft and the updated SJ34. The October 19 presentation, held ahead of NBAA-BACE 2026, also introduced SyberVision, an in-house avionics system intended to support single-pilot operation and future aircraft automation.

The SJ36 is a stretched derivative of the Sino Swearingen SJ30/SJ30-2. SyberJet is targeting a maximum speed of Mach 0.88, a range of about 3,000 nautical miles, a ceiling of 49,000 feet and sea-level cabin pressure to 41,000 feet. The planned flight deck includes six high-definition or 4K touchscreen displays, an integrated flight-management system, autopilot, autothrottle, fly-by-wire controls and over-the-air software updates.

The mockup includes the planned cabin interior, seating, displays, lighting, cabin systems, audio equipment, fuselage, tail, wings and landing gear. The cabin is also planned to include high-speed satellite connectivity and virtual-reality entertainment capability.

SyberJet is developing the avionics internally rather than relying primarily on established suppliers such as Garmin or Honeywell. The company’s objective is to retain greater control over development costs, timing and system functions. SyberVision remains subject to change during certification; the demonstrator includes production software and the proposed Syber Pilot assistant, designed to help interpret selected air-traffic-control and datalink instructions and support flight-plan entry.

First flight is targeted within three to five years, with FAA certification and initial SJ36 deliveries planned for 2032. The updated SJ34 is targeted for delivery in 2029. The programme remains pre-flight-test, so its performance, systems, certification schedule and delivery dates are company targets rather than demonstrated results.
