Swissmint will issue a 20-franc silver commemorative coin honouring the 125th anniversary of the Aero Club of Switzerland (AeCS) on 22 October 2026. The limited-edition coin, available through Swissmint’s online shop, will be offered in uncirculated quality for CHF 65 and proof quality for CHF 110.
The 999-silver coin weighs 20 grams and measures 33 millimetres in diameter. Its cockpit-themed design features a runway marked “125”, the anniversary logo and the years 1901–2026. Surrounding motifs trace aviation’s development from ballooning and gliding through parachuting, early aircraft, modern powered aircraft and helicopters.
The issue is the second instalment of Swissmint’s three-part Swiss Aviation series, which began in 2025 with a coin dedicated to pioneers of Swiss aviation. A third coin, focused on the future of aviation, is planned for 2027.
Swissmint will produce 8,000 uncirculated coins and 3,500 proof coins. The Aero Club of Switzerland, founded in 1901, is commemorating its anniversary through events organised by affiliated clubs across Switzerland rather than through a single central ceremony.
