Zurich Airport expands winter connections to Finnish Lapland

Zurich Airport will expand its winter network to Finnish Lapland from 25 October 2026 to 27 March 2027, with Finnair resuming Zurich–Kittilä flights for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic. Edelweiss will also increase capacity to Kittilä and Rovaniemi, providing additional seasonal access to the region during the peak winter travel period.

The expanded Lapland programme forms part of Zurich Airport’s winter timetable, which will connect the airport with 173 destinations in 71 countries through 58 scheduled and charter airlines. The network is four destinations larger than in the previous winter season.

Edelweiss will begin serving Kittilä earlier than previously planned and add flights during the winter school-holiday period. Its Rovaniemi operation will also start earlier and include additional weekly flying. Exact frequencies for every Lapland service were not disclosed in the airport’s timetable announcement.

Other changes include Chair Airlines’ seasonal Zurich–Porto service from 18 December to 9 January, Swiss flights to Bengaluru, easyJet services to Marrakech and Edelweiss flights to San José. The broader schedule combines leisure-market growth with additional short-, medium- and long-haul capacity from Zurich.
