Jesús María Alonso elected COIAE dean and AIAE president

Jesús María Alonso Martín has been elected dean of Spain’s Official College of Aeronautical Engineers (COIAE) and president of the Association of Aeronautical Engineers of Spain (AIAE), following general meetings to renew both organisations’ governing bodies. The appointment gives Alonso simultaneous leadership of the professional and representative institutions for aeronautical engineers in Spain.

Alonso is an aeronautical engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and holds an MBA from IE, a diploma in Business Planning and Administration from CEPADE-UPM, and a master’s degree in Public-Sector Contract and Programme Management from the Gutiérrez Mellado University Institute. He is also a corresponding academic of the Academy of Military Sciences and Arts.

The full governing team from the only submitted candidacy has also taken office at both organisations. José Gabriel Martín is treasurer, José Antonio Rodríguez is secretary, and Marina de Brito, Tania Moreno and Manuel Pérez are members.

The new leadership has committed to continuing the defence of the aeronautical engineering profession and supporting aeronautical engineers in Spain.
