Eurowings retains Premium BIZ Seat as retrofit scope remains under review

Eurowings will retain its Premium BIZ Seat concept as part of its medium-haul product strategy, but the airline’s broader retrofit plans remain under review. The Lufthansa Group subsidiary has not finalised how many aircraft will receive the premium cabin or when any wider conversion programme will be completed, leaving the extent of fleet standardisation unresolved.

Eurowings introduced the concept on Airbus A320neo aircraft following a trial on the Berlin-Dubai route. The product replaces the standard six-abreast arrangement in the first two rows with eight seats in a 2-2 configuration, providing more space and additional comfort for passengers on longer European and medium-haul services.

The airline has been expanding Premium BIZ availability on selected business and leisure routes, including services to Dubai, London and destinations in Spain. The A320neo fleet has been the focus of the rollout, with enhanced seating and service aimed at passengers willing to pay for a higher-value cabin experience.

Retaining the seat confirms Eurowings’ commitment to a premium offering within its low-cost model. However, the number of aircraft affected, the installation schedule and whether the product will eventually extend beyond the A320neo fleet have not been established.
