HiSky largely suspends Bucharest–New York flights for winter

HiSky is largely suspending its Bucharest–New York JFK service during the Northern Hemisphere winter 2026/27 schedule, with only a small number of Airbus A330-operated flights currently scheduled around the Christmas and New Year period. The change affects flights H4101 from Bucharest Otopeni and H4102 from JFK, but does not establish a permanent cancellation of the route.

The remaining operating dates are 30 October, 18 December, 21 December, 23 December and 28 December 2026, followed by 4 January, 6 January and 8 January 2027. The service is otherwise suspended from November through 17 December and from 9 January onward.

The pattern represents a sharp reduction from regular winter connectivity between Romania and the United States, while preserving selected departures for peak holiday demand. Available schedule data indicates that the flights remain filed and bookable, so the programme could still change. No reason has been given for the suspension, and no detailed passenger-rebooking policy has been identified.
