Latécoère wins H175 cockpit panel contract

Latécoère has been selected by Airbus Helicopters to supply additional cockpit control panels for the H175 helicopter’s new Full Icing Protection System configuration. The equipment will support management, monitoring and control of key aircraft functions as the twin-engine super-medium helicopter gains greater operating capability in icing conditions and challenging cold-weather environments.

The panels will form part of the H175 FIPS configuration, which is intended to expand the helicopter’s operational envelope in icing conditions. The system is aimed at supporting missions such as offshore transport, search and rescue, public service and VIP operations where weather conditions can be demanding.

Cockpit control panels provide the interface between pilots and onboard systems. Latécoère’s equipment will therefore be integrated into a safety-critical configuration subject to stringent requirements for reliability, durability and certification compliance.

The contract extends the companies’ longstanding partnership and broadens Latécoère’s role in the H175 programme beyond its existing involvement in cockpit equipment. No value, panel quantity, production schedule, delivery timetable or customer fleet has been disclosed. The certification status of the new FIPS configuration and the specific functions assigned to the additional panels also remain undisclosed.
