Finnair raises 2026 revenue and profit guidance

Finnair has raised its 2026 revenue and comparable operating-profit guidance after air-travel demand exceeded expectations, despite higher fuel costs. The Finnish carrier now forecasts revenue of €3.5 billion to €3.6 billion, up from €3.4 billion to €3.5 billion, and comparable operating profit of €175 million to €220 million, compared with €120 million to €190 million previously.

Preliminary figures for the July-September quarter show revenue of approximately €953 million, compared with €834.9 million a year earlier. Comparable operating profit rose to about €84 million from €50.7 million. Finnair attributed the stronger outlook to resilient demand and its ability to capture market opportunities.

Some of the increase in fuel costs has been passed through to ticket prices. However, elevated fuel prices could limit the airline’s ability to increase fuel hedging for 2027. Fuel prices, inflation and interest rates remain among the factors affecting the outlook.

Finnair will publish its interim report for January-September on 27 October, providing further detail on capacity, fares, demand and regional performance.
