Av8, a Victor Sierra company, has signed a five-year landing gear maintenance agreement with private aviation provider Wheels Up. The contract covers overhaul and exchange support for Wheels Up’s aircraft, providing the operator with a long-term arrangement for component maintenance while giving Av8 a multi-year commercial commitment.
Further details on the agreement, including the aircraft types covered, the maintenance facilities involved, contract value and start date, have not been disclosed. The arrangement is understood to concern landing gear support rather than Wheels Up’s broader airframe, engine or line-maintenance operations.
Av8 provides landing gear overhaul and exchange services, including support for Embraer Phenom aircraft. Wheels Up operates and manages a fleet of business aircraft for private aviation customers and has been developing its own maintenance infrastructure in the United States.
The five-year term establishes the principal commercial detail of the agreement, but its expected effect on fleet availability, maintenance capacity and operating costs cannot be assessed without information on the scope and volume of work.
