Avolon has placed a firm order with Airbus for 110 aircraft, comprising 35 A330-900 widebodies and 75 A320neo Family jets, as part of a larger 250-aircraft commitment split between Airbus and Boeing. The Dublin-based lessor’s latest deal lifts its total firm aircraft commitments to 749 and includes options for up to 100 additional Airbus jets, pending shareholder approval from Bohai Leasing before the end of October.
The Airbus order takes Avolon’s A330-900 total to 114 aircraft and its A320 Family commitment to about 650 aircraft. The transaction strengthens the long-running relationship between one of the world’s largest aircraft lessors and the European planemaker, while supporting demand across both the widebody and single-aisle programmes.
Avolon’s broader order package also includes 140 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, underscoring a fleet expansion strategy built around new-technology aircraft. Financial terms were not disclosed.
