LATAM Airlines Brazil and Embraer have started the delivery process for the carrier’s first E195-E2 in São José dos Campos, with the aircraft set to underpin a broader domestic network expansion. The jet is the first of 12 E195-E2s due to be delivered by the end of 2026 and will be operated by LATAM Brazil as the airline prepares to add new routes and destinations across the country.
Before entering commercial service, the aircraft still needs customs clearance, cabin interior approval and certification by Brazil’s civil aviation regulator. LATAM expects the type to enter service between November 2026 and March 2027, initially on 42 routes, including eight new services and four destinations not previously served by the airline: Cabo Frio, Ji-Paraná, Macaé and Rondonópolis.
The E195-E2 will seat 136 passengers in a two-by-two layout with Premium Economy and Economy cabins. LATAM has positioned the aircraft for thinner domestic markets where the larger narrowbody fleet is less efficient, using the type to improve flexibility in Brazil. The carrier has expanded its Brazilian network from 44 airports six years ago to 63 today, and the E195-E2 programme comes after LATAM Group’s 2025 order for up to 74 aircraft of the model.
