Airbus has opened a renewed plant in El Puerto de Santa María after completing the consolidation of its Cádiz operations into a single industrial centre. The unified site brings together about 750 workers from the former Puerto Real and El Puerto facilities and now houses production for the A320, A330 and A350, alongside defence programmes including the A400M, MRTT, C295, Eurofighter and Eurodrone.
The company has expanded the industrial area by 4,000 square metres and added logistics land, with more automation and robotisation built into the site to support future output growth. Airbus has set production targets for the centre of components for 75 A320s a month by the end of 2027, 12 A350s a month in 2028 and five A330s a month in 2029.
The reorganisation follows a multi-year plan that began with the closure and relocation of Puerto Real in 2021. Airbus presents the Cádiz site as a multiproduct model combining commercial and defence work, while also strengthening its industrial footprint in Spain and its long-term competitiveness at the location.
