Royal Air Maroc has signed an agreement with Boeing to refurbish the cabins of seven Boeing 787-8s during the Marrakech Air Show, adding new seats, a modernised in-flight entertainment system and Starlink connectivity. The work covers the airline’s oldest Dreamliners, delivered between 2014 and 2016, and aims to bring them in line with the passenger experience on newer long-haul aircraft.
The seven 787-8s form part of RAM’s 13-aircraft Dreamliner fleet and are deployed on intercontinental routes, including services capable of reaching Beijing. The cabin upgrade is part of a wider modernisation programme that includes fleet renewal and a broader interior overhaul across the carrier’s long-haul operation.
The agreement was signed by Fahad Mohammed Al Mheiri, Boeing’s president for the Middle East, Gulf and North Africa, and Naoual Ait Hammou, RAM’s head of air operations. The refurbishment is being presented alongside the airline’s wider Starlink plan, which will eventually extend to 41 aircraft from 2027 in a phased rollout designed to preserve operational continuity.
