Airbus has completed the consolidation of its Cádiz operations with the opening of a modernised plant in El Puerto de Santa María, bringing production for the A320, A330 and A350 programmes into one site alongside existing defence work. The unified complex now employs about 750 people and combines civil and military activities in a larger multiprogram aerospace hub.
The move brings together workers from the former Puerto Real and El Puerto de Santa María sites into a single team at the Cádiz complex, ending a multiyear reorganisation of Airbus industrial activity in the area. The company expanded the site by 4,000 square metres and secured additional land for logistics, increasing the plant’s industrial footprint and supporting the transfer of production lines.
Airbus presents the consolidation as part of a long-term effort to strengthen competitiveness, innovation and production flexibility in Spain. Coverage of the project has linked the new setup with higher output ambitions in the coming years, as the Cádiz site takes on a broader role across commercial aircraft structures and defence-related manufacturing.
