KLM to roll out free Starlink Wi-Fi on intercontinental flights from mid-2027

KLM will introduce free, high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi on its intercontinental flights from mid-2027, extending satellite internet to the airline’s long-haul network after earlier bringing free connectivity to most of its European fleet. The service will be available in all cabin classes for Flying Blue members, with access phased across equipped aircraft.

The Dutch carrier is positioning the rollout as an answer to long-running demand for fast onboard internet on widebody services, where Starlink’s low-Earth-orbit network is intended to support connectivity over oceans and other remote routes. Passengers will be able to use the connection for email, browsing, messaging, streaming and gaming, while non-members can join Flying Blue before departure or during the flight through the onboard portal.

KLM has not disclosed an aircraft-by-aircraft installation plan or a completion date for the programme. The phased introduction means availability will vary by route and aircraft type as equipment is fitted across the intercontinental fleet.
