Aena names Francisco Hernández Amorós as new director of Alicante-Elche Airport

Aena has appointed Francisco Hernández Amorós as the next director of Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport, with the handover due to take effect on 1 November. He will replace Laura Navarro, who moves to Aena’s Directorate of Organisation and People, keeping the airport under the leadership of a long-serving insider as planning work continues at one of Spain’s busiest gateways.

Hernández has worked at Aena since 2005 and has led the airport’s Engineering and Maintenance Division since 2008. Between 2006 and 2008, he headed Projects and Works, overseeing works at the airport.

He is an aeronautical engineer with a master’s degree in airport systems from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and holds an IESE PDD. The appointment maintains continuity at Alicante-Elche, where infrastructure management and operational planning remain active priorities. Navarro had directed the airport since 2019.
