Altavair has named Matthew Hoesley as chief executive officer and president, with founder Stephen Rimmer moving to executive chairman from 1 January 2027. The aviation leasing and financing platform also promoted Dimitrios Kotinis to chief commercial officer as it prepared for a planned leadership transition after more than two decades under Rimmer’s stewardship.
Rimmer, who has led the company since its founding in 2003, will remain involved in the business in a non-executive leadership capacity. Hoesley joined Altavair in 2005 and has held senior roles across pricing, marketing, originations, portfolio management, financing and investments, giving him a broad operational remit ahead of the handover.
Kotinis’ elevation adds to a wider management reshuffle designed to support the next phase of growth. His remit will cover key commercial functions, including marketing, trading, pricing, risk and capital markets, while Hoesley will combine the president and chief executive roles at the start of 2027.
