Argentina has received six more F-16 Fighting Falcon jets at Área Material Río Cuarto in Córdoba, bringing the number of aircraft in the country to 12 out of the 24 bought from Denmark. The latest delivery, which arrived on 29 September, advances the air force’s programme to restore supersonic combat capability and modernise national air defence.
The second tranche comprises four F-16AM single-seat fighters and two F-16BM two-seat aircraft. The jets completed a transatlantic ferry flight from Denmark with technical stops en route before landing in Las Higueras, near Río Cuarto.
The acquisition was agreed with Denmark in 2024 with US coordination, and the remaining 12 aircraft are expected to follow under the original delivery plan. Earlier coverage indicated the final lots were scheduled for 2027 and 2028, although officials have also weighed a faster timetable for later deliveries.
