SWISS has extended its meal pre-selection service to Economy Class on long-haul flights departing from Switzerland, allowing passengers to reserve a main course in advance. Travellers can now choose between a meat dish and a vegetarian option from Hiltl, with selection available from six weeks until 24 hours before departure.
The airline will guarantee the chosen main course for customers who pre-order it, expanding a service that was previously available in First Class, Business Class and Premium Economy. SWISS has positioned the offer within its wider digital Culinary Journey, accessed through swiss.com/menu and the SWISS app.
The carrier receives around 1,000 pre-orders each day and describes the programme as one of the most comprehensive pre-select offerings among airlines worldwide. The Economy rollout broadens an existing catering concept rather than introducing a new product line, but it gives long-haul customers from Switzerland more control over onboard meal choice before departure.
