The United States has awarded CAE a contract worth up to $42.1 million to supply two F-16 Block 72 full-mission trainer systems for the Royal Moroccan Air Force. The work will support Morocco’s F-16 modernisation programme and runs through 30 April 2029, with assembly and integration in Arlington, Texas, and at Sidi Slimane Air Base in Morocco.
The package includes instructor and operator stations, Block 72 cockpits, visual display and computational systems, power distribution equipment, JHMCS II helmet-mounted displays, an uninterruptible power supply, a central file server, spares and support equipment. The award also covers contractor logistics support. At the time of award, $37.975 million in Foreign Military Sales funding was obligated.
The trainers will give Moroccan pilots a high-fidelity environment to rehearse combat and mission scenarios on the ground, easing pressure on operational aircraft and supporting the transition to the Block 72 standard. The contract extends CAE’s role in defence simulation and adds another training and sustainment element to the U.S.-Morocco military aviation relationship.
