JetZero secures up to $100 million in new financing for Z4 programme

JetZero has closed a senior secured term-loan facility of up to $100 million to accelerate development of its Z4 blended-wing-body aircraft, with proceeds supporting technology maturation, the full-scale Jet1 demonstrator and manufacturing and test facilities in Greensboro, North Carolina. The financing was led by Pinegrove Credit Partners and backed by Silicon Valley Bank, a division of First Citizens Bank.

The Long Beach, California-based developer is advancing a 250-seat-class aircraft aimed at routes of up to 5,000 nautical miles, with a design intended to reduce fuel burn and emissions by as much as 50% versus conventional tube-and-wing jets. Jet1, the full-scale demonstrator, is being built with Scaled Composites in Mojave, California, while first flight remains targeted for 2027.

The loan structure links funding to programme progress rather than providing an immediate lump sum, and the facility adds to JetZero’s broader capital base as it moves from demonstrator work towards industrialisation. Earlier reporting has put the company’s combined funding commitments at more than $1 billion, reflecting continuing investor interest in blended-wing-body development before entry into commercial service in the early 2030s.
