Jeju Air has invested KRW27 billion in affiliate debt as stronger operating cash flow lifted its liquidity position, directing about 14% of its cash holdings into related-party lending. The move comes after the South Korean low-cost carrier generated net operating cash inflows of KRW148.9 billion in the first half of 2026, signalling a notable recovery in internal cash generation.
The investment suggests Jeju Air is putting excess cash to work rather than leaving it idle, while keeping funds within its wider corporate network. For Korean carriers, balance-sheet management remains a priority as they continue to repair finances after years of disruption and uneven demand. The reported shift in Jeju Air’s cash position points to firmer operating performance and a greater ability to redeploy liquidity in line with its capital needs.
