Viasat has brought its ViaSat-3 F3 satellite into service, making capacity available to customers across the Asia-Pacific region. The satellite is now generating revenue and becomes the second in Viasat’s ViaSat-3 Ka-band constellation to enter service, following ViaSat-3 F1 in 2024.
The company’s latest high-throughput satellite is designed to deliver more than one terabit per second of capacity for APAC markets, where demand for connectivity continues to grow. ViaSat-3 F3 underwent in-orbit testing before entering commercial operation, and the move expands Viasat’s satellite broadband footprint for mobility, fixed and government users in the region.
With ViaSat-3 F3 now active, Viasat advances the rollout of its three-satellite ViaSat-3 programme. The constellation is intended to strengthen the company’s global capacity base, with the APAC spacecraft adding network resources for aviation and other mobility customers that rely on satellite connectivity over long-haul and remote routes.
