Air Baltic will keep flying from Tallinn despite its restructuring programme, with the Estonian capital remaining part of the carrier’s network alongside Riga and Vilnius. The A220 operator plans to maintain services from Tallinn in the coming months and may retain some summer routes in the winter schedule as it trims capacity and reduces its fleet from 54 to 36 Airbus A220-300 aircraft by year-end.
Tallinn Airport has already held consultations with the airline, which remains the largest carrier at the airport by passenger share and accounts for roughly a quarter of traffic. Air Baltic’s earlier ambition to grow to 100 aircraft is now off the table, replaced by a narrower route plan built around fewer aircraft and more frequent service on selected routes. Lufthansa’s coordinated wet-lease bookings for 2027 also feature in the wider restructuring picture, even as the Baltic network is pared back. Riga stays the core base, but Tallinn and Vilnius remain in the operating plan.
