easyJet and Apollo have pushed back the timetable for Apollo’s £5.7 billion takeover plan, extending the deadline for publication of the scheme document to 15 October. The revised schedule delays shareholder meetings into the week of 9 November, while the parties still target completion by the end of the first quarter of 2027.
The shift reflects continuing discussions with aviation regulators after the summer break, a reminder of the ownership and control tests that apply to cross-border airline deals in Europe. Eagle Bidco, the Apollo-owned vehicle through which the offer is being made, remains behind the recommended bid for the UK low-cost carrier. The offer terms are unchanged, and the process has not been described as facing any substantive breakdown.
Apollo won the contest for easyJet after competing interest from Castlelake, and the transaction remains one of the largest airline takeover attempts in Europe. The extra six weeks before publication of the scheme document move the court meeting and general meeting deeper into November, but the parties are still working to keep the deal on track for an early 2027 close.
