Azul expands Belo Horizonte network with new domestic routes and Punta del Este link

Azul is expanding its Belo Horizonte-Confins network with a series of new domestic routes and a seasonal service to Punta del Este in Uruguay. The airline plans to add flights from Confins to Santarém in September, Aracati in October, and Parnaíba and Macapá in November, while a twice-weekly Confins-Punta del Este operation is set to begin on 14 December and run through February 2027.

The new destinations broaden Azul’s reach from one of its key hubs in Minas Gerais, which it is marking as part of 17 years of operations at Confins this month. The seasonal Uruguay service targets the southern summer leisure market and extends the carrier’s international offering from Belo Horizonte.

The expansion comes amid a wider increase in Azul’s capacity for the summer period, including thousands of additional flights and more than 300,000 extra seats across its network. Separate route developments from Confins also include the planned launch of services to Cabo Frio from mid-December, underscoring the airport’s growing role in the airline’s domestic and regional schedule.
