AirAsia X is preparing to launch its first codeshare partnership with Pegasus Airlines in September, extending the Malaysian long-haul carrier’s network through Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen. The arrangement will place AirAsia X’s D7 code on selected Pegasus-operated flights to five destinations, including Zurich, London Stansted, Athens, Ankara and Moscow Vnukovo.
The deal gives AirAsia X access to a wider European and regional feed without adding its own aircraft to those routes. Zurich stands out as a new point in the planned network and expands the carrier’s reach into Switzerland alongside other key markets served via Pegasus’ Istanbul base. The partnership also adds a new commercial layer to AirAsia X’s international network strategy as it restores capacity and looks beyond its own metal.
