Google is adding travel-planning tools to AI Mode in Search, including flight price tracking, fare alerts and hotel booking, while also letting users view travel costs in points or miles. Flight tracking is available in more than 180 countries and territories, and hotel booking is rolling out first in the United States in English, with access to expand over the coming weeks.
The update brings Google Flights’ price-tracking function directly into conversational search, allowing users to ask for routes and dates and receive email alerts when fares change. Users can also request award pricing for flights and hotels using loyalty currencies, with results drawn from partner airlines and travel sites. For hotels, AI Mode presents options with reviews and key details before routing the booking flow through integrated partners and Google Pay.
The rollout extends Google’s role in travel discovery and conversion by keeping more of the planning and booking process inside Search. Hotel partners include Booking.com, Choice Hotels, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Marriott, Priceline, Trip.com and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
