United Airlines will launch a daily nonstop service between Luxembourg and Newark on 2 April 2027, opening bookings for a route that would connect Luxembourg-Findel with Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. The transatlantic link is planned with an Airbus A321XLR and is subject to regulatory approval.
The route would make United the only US airline with direct service to Luxembourg and restore a nonstop link to the US after about 25 years without one. Industry coverage places the last direct Luxembourg-US service in 1999, underlining the length of the gap before this planned return.
The addition fits United’s broader 2027 international expansion and reflects the carrier’s growing use of the A321XLR on thinner long-haul markets. For Luxembourg, the service is being positioned as a significant upgrade to international air connectivity, with Newark offering access to the wider New York-area market.
