NOEMI Aerospace has signed a memorandum of understanding with SkyHop Aviation to explore the introduction of up to 15 amphibious aircraft in India, including as many as 10 by 2030 and an option for five more. The nine-passenger electric or hybrid-electric platform is intended for island and coastal routes, as SkyHop positions itself as India’s dedicated seaplane operator.
The agreement gives NOEMI, formerly known as Elfly Group, a potential foothold in a market centred on short-haul connectivity where conventional airport infrastructure is limited or unavailable. The aircraft is being pitched for passenger, cargo, medevac, search-and-rescue, government and firefighting missions, broadening its use case beyond tourism. Commercial deployment will depend on regulatory approval, operational suitability and SkyHop’s evaluation of the aircraft in service.
SkyHop’s network concept targets coastal and island destinations in India, a segment that could benefit from lower infrastructure requirements than conventional regional aviation. One report indicated that NOEMI’s commercial pipeline now exceeds 90 aircraft across multiple regions, suggesting the India deal forms part of a wider sales push for the amphibious platform.
