Saudia Group has signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding with Saudi EXIM and Crédit Agricole CIB to explore and arrange financing for new Airbus aircraft. The agreement, signed in Paris during the French-Saudi investment roundtable events, sets up a structure in which Crédit Agricole CIB will arrange the financing in line with delivery schedules, while Saudi EXIM evaluates credit-risk insurance support.
The framework combines international bank financing with Saudi export credit support, broadening funding options for Saudi-linked export transactions. It is aimed at supporting Saudia’s fleet expansion and modernisation plans, but no aircraft type, deal value or fleet count was disclosed.
Final financing and insurance arrangements remain subject to completion of procedures, applicable requirements and final terms for each transaction. The parties also agreed to look at additional financing opportunities linked to future aircraft orders and fleet development programmes.
