NOEMI Aerospace has signed a memorandum of understanding with SkyHop Aviation to assess the introduction of up to 15 amphibious aircraft into India. The agreement centres on SkyHop’s planned seaplane network, including initial links across the Lakshadweep islands and between the archipelago and mainland India, with the first phase targeting up to 10 aircraft by FY2030 through purchase, lease or a mix of both.
The two companies will examine technical, operational, commercial and regulatory requirements before any aircraft are committed to the fleet. SkyHop’s plan also leaves room for five additional aircraft if the initial phase proves viable. The arrangement remains exploratory and is subject to operational suitability, regulatory approvals, commercial review and definitive agreements.
The talks underline continued interest in seaplane connectivity in India, particularly for island and regional transport routes. No delivery schedule, final order or aircraft specification has been confirmed.
