airBaltic has cancelled planned winter services from Liège Airport to Tenerife South and Gran Canaria, ending the Belgian airport’s expected return to scheduled passenger flights. The routes had been due to operate twice a week from late October, but weak bookings led to a reduction in the programme before the carrier pulled the flights entirely.
The cancellation leaves Liège without scheduled commercial passenger services after TUI fly withdrew in January 2026. Liège Airport has not ruled out a future return of passenger flying, although it says it is too early to assess whether services could resume in summer 2027.
airBaltic will continue to serve Belgium on other routes, including Riga-Brussels and Tallinn-Brussels. The loss of the Liège leisure operation underlines the airport’s continued reliance on cargo traffic rather than scheduled passenger demand.
