easyJet and Apollo’s acquisition vehicle, Eagle Bidco, have agreed to extend the deadline for publishing the scheme document for Apollo’s recommended cash acquisition of the UK airline. The shareholder circular, which sets out the terms of the offer and the voting timetable, is now due on or before 15 October 2026, with the court meeting and general meeting expected in the week beginning 9 November 2026.
The deadline had originally been set for within 28 days of the 6 August announcement of the transaction. The extension gives the parties more time for constructive engagement with aviation regulators after the summer period before the document is issued.
The acquisition remains expected to complete by the end of the first calendar quarter of 2027, subject to the necessary conditions being met. The scheme document will provide shareholders with the formal details needed to progress the takeover through the next stage of the process.
